The cheques were handed over at a ceremony held on Tuesday afternoon at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room. Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury attended the event as the chief guest and formally handed over the cheques.
This cheque distribution followed the conclusion of a three-day land fair organized by the district administration. Previously, 35 other landowners had already received compensation.

Among others present were Acting Superintendent of Police Mukit Sarkar, Deputy Director of Local Government Mamataz Begum, Additional District Magistrate Jesmin Akhter, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development & HRM) Mohammad Amimul Ehsan Khan, along with other district officials.
The compensation is being provided under the Kishoreganj-Karimganj-Chamraghat Highway Development Project and the Shayna-Yashodal-Chouddoshata Bazar Link Road Construction Project, covering land, structures, and business losses.
Divisional Commissioner Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury stated, “The administration is always ready to ensure fair compensation to those affected by government development projects. While such projects aim to bring progress, ensuring justice for the affected citizens is equally our responsibility.”
