Lilin Moon to Perform at Pohela Boishakh Celebration in Laksham
She is exceptional on stage. Especially known for her folk songs, she has been captivating audiences for several years. After the busy Eid season, artists are gradually returning to live stage performances, and popular singer of the new generation, Lilin Moon, is also getting busy again with her music. Lilin shared that on the upcoming Pohela Boishakh, she will perform at a New Year celebration event in Laksham, Cumilla. Although she is currently a bit unwell and emotionally distressed, she feels excited to begin the Bengali New Year through music.
Explaining her sadness, Lilin said that her elder sister Shampa’s husband—her brother-in-law—passed away suddenly a few days ago. As a result, the entire family is still grieving. Despite this, life goes on. Lilin is supporting her sister and helping take care of her children during this difficult time. Meanwhile, Lilin has recorded a cover of the popular song “Din Eka Eka Jay Chole Jay,” originally sung by Madhura Bhattacharya for the Kolkata film “Tomake Chai.”
The song has been newly arranged by Shamim Hasan. However, she feels a bit disappointed about this project as well, since she had hoped to release it sooner. Due to the busy schedule of her husband, Shithil Rahman—one of the most in-demand photographers and cinematographers—the music video shoot has been delayed. Shithil has promised to complete the shoot soon after the Pohela Boishakh festivities. Lilin Moon said, “After Eid, I’m getting busy again with stage shows starting with the Pohela Boishakh event. I’m grateful to the organizers for giving me the opportunity to perform in Laksham.
Honestly, we are still not mentally stable after the sudden death of my brother-in-law. I ask for everyone’s prayers so we can overcome this situation. I’m also thankful to Shamim bhai for rearranging my favorite song, and to Shithil for always inspiring me in my musical journey.”
