Madrasa student killed in Cumilla road accident

An eight-year-old madrasa student was killed in a road accident in front of Azgar Ali Girls High School on the Cumilla-Sylhet highway in Debidwar upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was identified as Md Khalid Hossain, a resident of Gopalnagar village under Rasulpur union of the upazila. 

According to local sources, Khalid was returning home from his madrasa on his father's motorcycle when the incident occurred. Due to a sudden traffic jolt on the busy highway, he fell off the motorcycle. Shortly after, a covered van, coming from behind, crushed him, killing him on the spot.

Debidwar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Moniruzzaman confirmed the matter and said efforts are underway to identify and seize the vehicle involved. Necessary legal action is being taken in this incident.
