Preparatory meeting on 'Nat'l Disaster Preparedness Day' held in Khulna

A preparatory meeting was held today (Tuesday) in Khulna marking the upcoming National Disaster Preparedness Day 2026. The meeting was held at the office chamber of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bitaan Kumar Mondal, who presided over the session.

It was informed at the meeting that a colorful rally will be brought out at 9.30 am on March 10 from Shaheed Hadis Park. The rally will parade through different city roads and conclude at the Khulna Collectorate Office premises. A disaster preparedness drill demonstrating necessary self-protection measures during emergencies will also be held at the Collectorate Building premises as part of the day's programme.

Representatives from various government and non-government organisations, including NGOs and the Red Crescent Society, will participate to mark the day. Officials from different government and private offices, NGO representatives and members of the concerned committee attended the meeting.
