RAB recovers firearm in Rajshahi
Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) recovered a foreign revolver and two cartridges in an abandoned condition from the Charghat Police Station area of Rajshahi early today. An operational team of RAB-5 conducted the drive around 12:30am based on confidential information. The operation was carried out on the eastern bank of the Padma River adjacent to Raotha Balurghat under Charghat Police Station. During the operation, one foreign-made revolver and two cartridges were recovered in abandoned condition.
RAB sources said the individuals involved with the firearm could not be identified immediately. However, efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible. Sensing the presence of RAB members, they reportedly fled the scene, leaving behind the arm and ammunition. The recovered revolver and cartridges were handed over to Charghat Police Station in Rajshahi for further legal action.
