RCC holds meeting for smooth implementation of Measles-Rubella vaccination drive
An advocacy meeting was held, organised by the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), to ensure the smooth implementation of the Measles-Rubella (M-R) vaccination campaign 2026, scheduled to take place in Rajshahi city from April 20 to May 10. The meeting was held today at the City Hall of the Nagar Bhaban. RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended the meeting as the chief guest, calling for sincere efforts and overall cooperation from all concerned to successfully implement the campaign.
The meeting was presided over by the Chief Executive Officer of RCC Rezaul Karim. Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Assistant Director of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) Dr Nasim Akhtar, Director of Islamic Foundation Dr Asem Ali, Director of Islami Medical College Hospital Prof Mamun Ar Rashid and Civil Surgeon Dr. Raziul Karim were present, among others. Divisional Coordinator of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr Md. Kamruzzaman and National Specialist of UNICEF Dr Rezaur Rahman Milton were present at the meeting while a presentation was delivered by RCC Chief Health Officer Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum. Representatives from the health department, various government and non- government organisations, teachers from different educational institutions, and concerned officials of RCC were also present.
It was informed in the meeting that a target has been set to vaccinate a total of 54,144 children over 14 working days from April 20 to May 10, 2026. This includes 45,623 children at the community level and 8,521 children at the school level. The vaccination programme will be conducted at 286 educational institutions, 240 community centers, and six permanent centers across the city. Each temporary center will have two vaccinators and three volunteers, while each permanent center will have one vaccinator and one volunteer assigned.
