A view-exchange meeting was held with the heads of various government offices in Rajshahi city, organized by the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), with the aim of transforming the city into a healthy, safe, elegant, and peaceful urban centre. The meeting took place today at the conference hall of the city building, chaired by the Administrator of RCC, Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.

Speakers at the meeting collectively expressed their commitment to developing Rajshahi into a more beautiful, healthy, safe, refined, and peaceful city. On behalf of RCC, the Administrator presented commemorative crests to the guests. Among those who spoke at the meeting were Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dr Jillur Rahman, Chairman of Rajshahi Development Authority Tuhinur Alam, Principal of Rajshahi Medical College Dr Khandaker Faisal Alam, and Additional Deputy Commissioner Belayet Hossain.

A detailed PowerPoint presentation was delivered by RCC’s Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moeen. In his speech, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman had entrusted him with the responsibility to serve Rajshahi city with confidence and trust. He said the Prime Minister has stated that Rajshahi is already beautiful and should be made even more so to fulfil the expectations and aspirations of city residents.

The Administrator further said that everyone must work together to build Rajshahi into a more beautiful, healthy, safe, refined, and peaceful city, and he sought the cooperation of all concerned in achieving this goal. RMP Commissioner Dr Jillur Rahman praised the initiative taken by the RCC Administrator to identify the problems and potentials of the city and move Rajshahi forward.

He said they are working collectively on drug control, developing Rajshahi into a digitally secure city by bringing the entire city under CCTV surveillance, and easing traffic congestion to ensure smooth movement. He assured full cooperation from RMP in all development activities and in building a safe city. RDA Chairman Tuhinur Alam said that RDA would provide full support to RCC for the development of the city.

He mentioned that various plans have been undertaken, including the construction of the Padma Driveway around the Padma River and housing projects. He emphasized that coordinated implementation of development activities would ensure sustainable development and improved civic amenities. The meeting also discussed issues such as removing illegal structures and encroachments on footpaths, resolving traffic congestion, preventing indiscriminate parking in the Shiroil area, relocating the bus terminal to Nowdapara, improving the RDA market, and allocating land for permanent ward offices.
