TCB sells essential goods at Tk 590 in Bogura
Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has launched a subsidized truck sale of essential commodities at Khokon Park in Sadar upazila, aiming to ease the financial burden on low-income families during the holy month of Ramadan. Under the special initiative, daily necessities are being sold in a package priced at Taka 590. Each package includes half a kilogram of dates, two liters of soybean oil, one kilogram of lentils, one kilogram of sugar, and one kilogram of chickpeas.
According to dealer Zafar Iqbal of the Take and Give distribution point, the program is being conducted under government directives as part of Ramadan assistance measures. He said the target was to distribute packages among approximately 400 families in Bogura Sadar on the day. A large number of buyers gathered at the venue from early morning. Many were seen standing in orderly queues to collect the subsidized goods.
Rumana, a buyer who came from Gabtoli, said she arrived at Khokon Park around 10:00 am after learning about the initiative. Despite waiting in line for a considerable time, she expressed satisfaction over the smooth distribution process and absence of irregularities. She added that if such affordable sales are arranged regularly, it would greatly benefit common people struggling with rising market prices. The TCB's Ramadan sales program has received a strong response in the area, with residents welcoming the government's effort to provide essential commodities at reduced prices.
