The 1255th literary meeting of Rangpur Sahitya-Sangskriti Parishad (RSSP) was held at the RSSP office located in the city’s Rangpur Town Hall premises on Friday evening.  RSSP adviser veteran freedom fighter Sushanta Chandra Khan presided over the meeting moderated by its general secretary Mamun Ur Rashid.  

RSSP advisor professor Abdus Sobhan, eminent writer and cultural figure Dr Mofizul Islam Mantu, poet, publisher, general secretary of ‘Firedekha’ Shakil Masud and RSSP literary affairs secretary poet Afzal Hossain recited their self-composed poems Former RSSP president, eminent writer and educationist Professor Mohammad Shah Alam, former RSSP president Anwarul Islam Raju and literary affairs joint secretary co-Mehedi Masud participated in the poetry recitation. 

RSSP executive committee member and noted writer SM Amjad Hossain Sarkar read the article titled "Swopner Mela- Ashar Bhela" in the event. Naat Rasul was performed by the talented musician Rawshan Ara Soheli, while Hamat was performed by the distinguished musician Swapan Kumar Pal. Artist and poet Md Nawab Ali performed ‘ghazal’ and captivated everyone present with emotion and love. 

RSSP adviser writer Advocate Masum Hasan, poet, storyteller and novelist Nargis Akhter Banu, banker Mossarraf Hossain, RSSP treasurer Mahmuda Chowdhury, and orator Purnima Raj spoke about the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr and contemporary issues. After the literary meeting, prayers were offered for the well-being, peace and progress of the country and its people and everyone. After the prayers, all those present took Iftar.
