At least 27 people have died after a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka. Among the dead, 25 are children, according to Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant on Health Affairs to the Chief Adviser. The devastating crash has shaken the entire nation. Social media is flooded with grief, prayers, and calls for blood donations. Celebrities and public figures are expressing their sorrow and solidarity.

Filmmaker and television host Debashish Biswas wrote in a heart-wrenching condolence post: “These children probably never went near fire before. Whenever they burned their hands slightly, they would run to their mothers, who would put ice on it to soothe the pain. But this time, they died enduring temperatures of 900 to 1200°C. Yet, they couldn’t even find their mothers to put ice on their burns. They couldn’t find their fathers either.” The incident occurred shortly after 1 PM on Monday when the training jet crashed into a building of Milestone School and College. The building caught fire instantly. Many students were inside at the time, most of whom have either died or been critically injured.
