Two arrested in Chuadanga with narcotics
Law enforcement officials in the district have arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized a significant quantity of narcotics along with a private car used for transportation. Chuadanga Police Superintendent Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan disclosed this during a press briefing held at 11:00 am today.
According to the police, a check-post was set up around 6:00 am at Hasadah Bazar in Jibannagar, following a tip-off. During the operation, a private car approaching the checkpoint aroused suspicion. The driver attempted to flee after stopping the vehicle, prompting police to take swift action and apprehend two individuals, including the driver. The arrested individuals have been identified as Alim Hossain, son of Kader Hawlader from Kalagachia village in Patuakhali district and Joni, son of Babu Jamadar.
During the operation, the police recovered a large quantity of Indian narcotics worth around Taka 14.5 lakh. Four smart mobile phones were also seized. Authorities confirmed that a case has been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at the concerned police station. Further investigation is currently underway.
