Two killed in Faridpur road crash

Two people lost their lives early this morning when a fish-laden truck hit another truck on the Atadi Flyover of Bhanga Expressway in Faridpur. The deceased were identified as Md Shamim, 30, a resident of Chachra village under Jashore Kotwali Police Station and the driver of the fish truck. The other victim, believed to be the helper of the fish truck, has not yet been identified.

According to police, the truck loaded with tree seedlings was moving slowly toward Dhaka on the flyover when the fast-moving fish truck lost control and rammed into it from behind. The impact caused the front portion of the fish truck to crumple, killing both occupants on the spot.

Sub-Inspector Sohel Khan of Bhanga Highway Police Station confirmed the matter and said that police recovered the bodies and seized both vehicles involved in the accident. Efforts are ongoing to identify the helper of the fish truck, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
