Week-Long Tree Plantation Campaign and Fair Kicks Off in Natore

A seven-day tree plantation campaign and tree fair began today in the district with the slogan of 'Let's do planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh.' Deputy Commissioner Asma Shaheen inaugurated the campaign and fair at a function organized by the district administration and Forest Department at Nawab Siraj-Ud-Dowla Government College grounds at 10.30 am.

Rajshahi Divisional Forest Officer Md. Rafiquzzaman presided over the function while Professor Abdul Bari Mirza, Principal of Nawab Siraj-Ud-Dowla Government College was present as special guest. Assistant Conservator of Forests Md. Mehedizzaman delivered the welcome speech.  Earlier, a colorful procession brought from the premises of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daula Government College and it ended at the same venue parading main street of the town.
