The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 418 people and filed 65 cases during its regular anti-crime operations across the capital over the past 24 hours.

According to a DMP press release issued today, the arrests included 23 suspects from Ramna Division, 43 from Lalbagh, 42 from Wari, 48 from Motijheel, 57 from Tejgaon, 135 from Mirpur, 30 from Gulshan and 40 from Uttara Division.

During the drives, police also seized three foreign-made pistols, five magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, a Chinese axe, a switchgear device, fragments of an exploded cocktail, 4,439 yaba tablets and 1.11 kilograms of cannabis.

The operation also led to the recovery of two shoulder bags, three walkie-talkies, two chargers, a Hiace microbus, nine mobile phones, 372 SIM cards, three packs of playing cards, two old red-and-green checked bedsheets, and Tk 24,850 in cash.

Police also rescued two victims during the operations.

The DMP said the suspects were arrested in separate raids conducted in different police station areas of the capital, while legal proceedings against them are underway.
