Mithu, key figure in AL-era health sector corruption, arrested in Gulshan

Detective Branch (DB) of police has arrested Motazzerul Islam Mithu, the mastermind of corruption in the health sector during the Awami League (AL) regime, from the capital's Gulshan area. A team of DB-Wari division arrested Mithu in a raid conducted at Gulshan area around 11:10 pm on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner of DB (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed this today. Mithu has a case with the Anti-Corruption Commission on charges of tender fraud, formation of a syndicate, money laundering and illegal acquisition of wealth in the health sector.
