Two ministers arrive in Rajshahi on official visit
As part of an official state visit, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu arrived in Rajshahi this morning. They landed at Shah Makhdum (R.) Airport at 8am on a US-Bangla Airlines flight, where they were given a warm reception. The two ministers were welcomed at the airport by Advocate Md. Shafiqul Haque Milon, Member of Parliament for the Paba-Mohanpur constituency. Senior officials of the local administration, public representatives, and political leaders were also present.
During the stopover at the airport, Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir inquired with MP Shafiqul Haque Milon about the current condition of Shah Makhdum Airport, potential development plans, and the overall development activities in the Paba-Mohanpur constituency. Discussions were held on local infrastructure development, communication systems, and various public service-related issues. Later, the ministers departed by road for Patisar in Atrai Upazila of Naogaon District.
The Local Government Minister is scheduled to attend the inaugural ceremony of the 165th birth anniversary celebration of poet Rabindranath Tagore and the Rabindra Fair as the chief guest. The event will feature cultural performances, discussion sessions, and other programs. During the visit, the Local Government Minister is also expected to inspect and review the progress of various development projects being implemented in Naogaon District by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE).
Also present at the airport were Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, MP for Natore-2 constituency; Rajshahi Divisional Commissioner Dr. A.N.M. Bazlur Rashid; Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam; Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hassan; Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton; Zila Parishad Administrator and freedom fighter Ershad Ali Isha; Paba Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ibnul Abedin; and other local administration officials. After completing the official programs, the Local Government Minister is scheduled to return to Shah Makhdum Airport on Friday afternoon and depart for Dhaka at 6:40 pm on a US-Bangla Airlines flight.
