All Tourist Attractions in Bandarban Closed Amid Heavy Rainfall Risks

The district administration has announced the closure of all tourist spots in the hill district of Bandarban until July 10 due to risks arising from continuous heavy rainfall. The administration has also prohibited tourists, tour operators and the general public from travelling to waterfalls, hill trails, waterways, remote areas and other high-risk locations across the district during the period.

The decision was announced in a public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md. Saniul Ferdous on Monday evening. According to the emergency public notice, continuous heavy rainfall in recent days has created the risk of disruptions to the communication network in different parts of the district.

Considering the prevailing weather conditions and the possibility of accidents, the decision was taken to ensure the safety of the lives and property of tourists and the general public. The notice further said that travel to all tourist attractions, waterfalls, hill trails, waterways, remote areas and other hazardous locations in Bandarban will remain completely prohibited until July 10. All concerned have been urged to take necessary precautions and strictly comply with the directives issued by the district administration during this period.
