Huarun Tex to invest $30m in BEPZA Economic Zone
Chinese company Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. is set to invest US$30 million to establish a textile manufacturing industry at the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram, aiming to produce yarn and woven fabric while creating jobs for hundreds of Bangladeshi nationals.
The factory will be established on 36,000 square metres of land at the economic zone. Once fully operational, the plant will produce 24,000 tonnes of yarn and 20 million metres of grey woven fabric annually.
The project is expected to create employment opportunities for 580 Bangladeshi nationals.
A land lease agreement between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. was signed on July 16, 2026, at the BEPZA Complex in the capital, according to a BEPZA press release issued today.
Md. Tanvir Hossain, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Bin Wang, Managing Director of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd., signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain, ndc, afwc, psc, G, MPhil, witnessed the signing ceremony.
The BEPZA executive chairman thanked Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. for choosing Bangladesh, particularly the BEPZA Economic Zone, for its investment.
He said BEPZA is committed to providing a safe, modern and business-friendly environment for investors and assured full support to help the company operate smoothly.
The signing ceremony was attended by Abdullah Al Mamun, Member (Engineering); A N M Foyzul Haque, Member (Finance); Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director (Enterprise Services); Samir Biswas, Executive Director (Administration); Mohammad Anamul Haque, Project Director of BEPZA Economic Zone; A.S.M. Anwar Parvez, Executive Director (Public Relations), along with senior BEPZA officials and representatives of Huarun Tex Co. Ltd.
