July Uprising Day to Be Observed with Due Dignity Tomorrow

The 'July Mass Uprising Day-2026' will be observed across the country with due dignity tomorrow (Wednesday) under the theme, "Building the Nation in the Spirit of July, Bangladesh First."

As part of the observance, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs will organise a reception for the families of the July martyrs and the July fighters, followed by a discussion meeting at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar here at 11 am.

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, has consented to attend the programme as the chief guest. 

Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan will preside over the meeting.

As part of the central programme, the minister, state minister and secretary of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, along with senior officials, will place wreaths at the July Martyrs Memorial at Shahbagh at 6:01 am tomorrow.

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, and State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain will attend the programme as the special guests.
Representatives of the families of the July martyrs and representatives of the July fighters will also deliver speeches at the event.

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has undertaken various programmes across the country to mark the day. Similar programmes will also be observed in all districts, upazilas, city corporations and municipalities, as well as at Bangladesh missions abroad.

Special prayers and Dua will be offered at all places of worship across the country in memory of the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising.

The July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum, Bangladesh National Museum, Military Museum, National Museum of Science and Technology, along with government and private recreational centres, will remain open throughout the day for children. Special meals will be arranged at government hospitals, prisons, government children's homes and old-age homes.

The national flag will be hoisted on important roads, government buildings and memorials across the country. To highlight the significance of the day, discussion meetings as well as essay writing, recitation and drawing competitions will be organised at all educational institutions across the country.
