Rajshahi Cadet College Maintains Perfect GPA-5 Record for 17 Years

Rajshahi Cadet College has maintained a unique record of achieving a 100 percent GPA-5 rate in the SSC examinations for 17 consecutive years.

From 2010 to 2026, every student who appeared for the SSC examination from the institution secured GPA-5. A total of 832 candidates appeared in the SSC examinations from the institution during these 17 years.

The SSC results under the Rajshahi Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education were published on Monday along with the results of the other 10 education boards.

The pass rate dropped to 63.67 percent from 77.66 percent last year. However, Rajshahi Cadet College has maintained its consistency in achieving excellent results.

This year, 49 students from Rajshahi Cadet College appeared in the SSC examination. All of them secured GPA-5. As a result, the institution has maintained its rare achievement of a 100 percent GPA-5 rate for 17 consecutive years.

According to information from the college, all 44 examinees of Rajshahi Cadet College secured GPA-5 in 2010, while all 43 students secured GPA-5 in 2011. The numbers were 51 in 2012, 47 in 2013, 52 in 2014, 56 in 2015, 55 in 2016, 51 in 2017, 50 in 2018, 45 in 2019, 46 in 2020, 51 in 2021, 46 in 2022, 51 in 2023, 48 in 2024 and 47 in 2025.

Throughout these years, there were major changes in the format and evaluation methods of the SSC examinations. In 2021, the examinations were held only for three elective subjects instead of all papers due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For determining the results of other subjects, the results of previous examinations and subject-based evaluation methods were followed.

Although the situation improved in 2022, the examination was held on a shortened syllabus. Even during this period, the college maintained a 100 percent GPA-5 rate.

According to the teachers, the all-round development of students is ensured through a combination of a disciplined environment, regular studies, experienced teachers, quality education, basic military training, sports and co-curricular activities. They said this contributes to the institution's consistent success.

AKM Azizul Haque, Acting Principal of Rajshahi Cadet College, said that in cadet colleges, students receive not only academic education but also basic military training and sports training for their physical and mental development.

Besides, there are ample opportunities for students to participate in co-curricular activities to enhance their creativity.

The acting principal said most students across the country took examinations under CCTV surveillance for the first time this year, but "our cadets have been giving exams in this way for eight years."

They are also seated at considerable distances from one another in examination centres. Only 12-14 students stay in one room. They know that they will not get any extra advantage by going to the examination centre, so they prepare accordingly.

He further said that, overall, the cadet colleges are moving forward with the firm determination to enrich students through education and build them as ideal citizens with moral character.
