Two Arrested in Mirpur While Planning Sabotage

At around 4:10 am today, based on secret intelligence, it was learned that some members of a banned organization were preparing for subversive activities in the Phalpatty area of Mirpur-10 under Mirpur Model Police Station in the capital.
Acting on the information, a team from Mirpur Model Police Station led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Sajjad Roman, along with Kilo-71, Lima-71, and Honda Mobile-71 units, conducted a swift raid. At approximately 4:20 am, when police reached in front of Villa Magnolia Building on Boundary Road, Mirpur-10, several individuals were seen loitering. On sensing police presence, they attempted to flee, but two were apprehended.
The detainees are:
1. Md. Bacchu (40)
2. Hridoy Parvez Titu (33)
During the operation, the following items were recovered from their possession and in abandoned condition nearby:
One iron rod
One machete
One wooden stick
Two iron pipes
One unexploded cocktail bomb
Ten posters featuring the image of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman In primary interrogation, they admitted that they had gathered there with the intent of carrying out sabotage on the occasion of the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15.
They also confessed that several associates, who managed to escape, were present at the scene. Among them are Rashed (35), Rakib (32), Humayun Shooter (32), Nur Hossain Shooter (40), Chhoto Kamrul (34), fish trader Lokman (45), Sojal (35), Kala Mintu (45) along with 10–12 others.
Police have stated that drives are ongoing to arrest the fugitives. Legal proceedings against the arrestees are underway.
